Keibul Lamjao national park

I set out for Loktak lake, home of the elusive Sangai - the brow-antlered deer - which is the symbol of Manipur. Before entering the national park, I went to take a ferry ride to an island in the middle of the lake

I climbed to the top of the island and admired the views of the lake and the island

These 'phumdis' or clumps of floating grass are the unique point of this lake, and the Sangai deer live and feed on the phumdi.
