Back to Ushuaia
And here I was - back on dry land! I had left from Ushuaia, done a long cruise to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands - and was now back in Ushuaia, Argentina!
And it was time for the next adventure!
It was time to explore land!
The land of Argentina!

Ushuaia town has a thriving market and main street and we went walking down that and seeing the sights.
This was our last day in Ushuaia and the day was still young! Tushar and Prajakta had not been to the Tierra del Fuego national park - and I too had seen only the coastal trek part. We decided to take a taxi and explore the park
You remember the story I told you about the rogue Postman who decided that this area was his own country called ‘Isla Redonda’? Well, he stamps your passport too - and this would be a cool memento of the trip! A passport stamp from the tiniest country ever! Tushar wanted to get his passport stamped - it would be a very cool memento!
It was real fun to see the post office guy stamp the passports and the postcards! He had a whole set of rubber stamps and seals and he affixed them one after another. Then he asked us where we were from - and when we said that we were from India - he actually pulled out a rubber stamp in Hindi - saying ‘Prithvi ka ant’ (End of the world)! I was extremely impressed! Either he had made rubber stamps of all language in the world…or there was so much Indian traffic here that it merited having a stamp made! Both possibilities were amazing!
The taxi guy took us to all the other spots - the beautiful Fagnano lake, the Tierra Del Fuego museum and gallery, a little trek and to the actual ‘Fin del Mundo’ - the end of the Ruta nacional 3 highway at Lapataia bay (Bahia Lapataia)
We walked up the boardwalk to the little dock to see the sea - it was a straight line from there to Antarctica!
It was a most enjoyable day out in the park and we were happy and satisfied when the taxi dude dropped us back to the town.
