The route to Hemkunt has been made into this cemented path
But soon we came to this turn off to the Valley of Flowers
The only bad thing was this ghastly rocky path which was tough to walk on.
The road was immediately so much better - no crowds, calm and quiet, green and beautiful!
George inspecting tree truck for treasures!
Wildflower gallery! And this is when there were no flowers in valley of flowers!
The amazing Pushpawati river as it flows out of the valley of flowers
The strength of this bridge is proven now!
What a lovely river
And after a long and arduous climb, we finally enter into the valley! What a view!
What a view!
The forest department reminds me to chill out and enjoy the sights.
The Pushpawati river drains this valley
We cross a rather rickety bridge and officially enter the Valley of Flowers
The views of the Ratawan mountains and the glacier
The VoF trek is about 5 km
The day hike trail ends here at the bend of the Pushpawati - you can go further to Kamet and Ratawan with a permit.
But we had reached our destination! Now it was time to turn back and return to Ghangria. What a lovely trek it had been! How fortuitous! How serendipitous! Thank you Patron saint of Idiots!
