Today was another awesome day! We were going to go down the fearsome Kunzum pass and then cross the terrible Rohtang pass!
Picture
First we stopped at Kunzum top and paid our obeisance to the gods of the pass
Picture
Picture
The terrible twins? I don't even remember what was going on here
Picture
My ProTrek agrees that we are some serious height
Picture
We make our way down extremely steep and slippery roads to Batal and bawa immediately takes a power nap at the dhaba
Picture
Picture
The proprietor of the dhaba is a cool dude - he has got a state bravery award for saving the lives of multiple people when people were stuck in dangerous snow
The road continues to be testing! We are stopped by a giant waterfall in the road.
Crossing this waterfall was an amazing experience!
Picture
Finally the road settles down, and we can watch the wild horses go by
Picture

After that, we have the pleasure of climbing up the muddy and slippery slopes of Rohtang pass
Picture
Picture
We have done it! Two high passes in the same day!
Picture
The mountains turn green again as we descend into the Beas valley
Picture
And as soon we hit good roads, bawa has a puncture! he had reduced his tyre pressure to get good grip on bad roads - and had not topped up the pressure on the good roads, and so he had a puncture. We didn't even have a pump to fill air - but a kind biker gave us his pump
Picture
It's quite a labour to change tubes on the road
Picture
You have to give your blood, sweat and tears...and a lot of cursing
Picture
We meet Godwin D'Cruz -  a biker from Mumbai who now runs a hotel in Manali and go to his place for the night
