THIS IS IT! THIS IS IT! WE ARE SO EXCITED!

Today is the day we will ride 'The Most Dangerous Road in the World'!

OOOOOH. I AM SO EXCITED!
Picture

A rainy day on the Chenab valley
Picture

The rain in Spain may fall mainly in the plain...but here in the mountains its a pain
Picture

But it is beautiful
Picture

And it makes the ride more challenging...wet, muddy, cold
Picture
But we are undeterred
Picture

At times the road came so close to the river that we couldn't hear our engines over the roar of the river! Incredibly beautiful. This road rocks.
Just a little rainy riding vid
Picture

We were so happy when we found this little shop frying fresh hot samosas! That really hit the spot! Piping hot tea and samosas on a cold rainy day...bliss!
Picture

Some locals told us that this road is far too dangerous to be done in the rain, and we should stay at some village and try it tomorrow
Picture

So we decided the chill by the roadside
Picture

And take some snaps
Picture

But the Amigos cannot chill for too long. We have to RIDE!
Damn the rain - we decide - we will do the ride today itself!

It was really inspiring to meet these cyclists from New Zealand. Just motorbiking here was a challenge....but to cycle it! Wow.
Picture
What a road...what a view...we are overwhelmed

Picture
And here we are - on the Most Dangerous Road in the World. No tarmac - only mud. One side mountain, one side valley
Picture
Picture

And we can't wait to do it!
Picture

Though I must say that I look a bit nervous here
Picture

Let's take another look at this road. I couldn't capture the cliff and the valley and road in a single frame. See the road on top of the frame?
Picture

See the jeep on the road? That should give it a bit of scale
And here we are! The most dangerous part of the road! There is a steep decline with a bend. And the road is wet and muddy and slippery. If you slip on the bend, you will fall in the river. Bawa  goes down fearlessly! Adi follows much more slowly. See the glimpse of the truck bearing down on us...
The waterfall has washed out all the soil, and only the bare stones are left. I slipped and fell here...nothing dangerous, just embarrassing.
And we reach the end of the road!
Picture
We have done it!
Picture

See the road in the background? On the lip of the mountain.
Picture

I can hardly believe it
Picture
Picture

What a ride!
Picture

The photo man and his selfies. But we managed to bomb his selfie...see the reflections in his shades?
Picture
Picture

Truly a ride of a lifetime....and this ride is just beginning!
Picture

Thanks indeed
