The Karsha Gompa guest house. What a welcome retreat after a long day of riding. The actual hotel we had been planning to stay in was closed as the manager had gone somewhere, so it was a great relief to find this place.
The Karsha Gompa guest house is run by monks from the Karsha monastery. They were curious to see us and flocked around the bikes.
Meeting our new friend Tenzin Phantuk.
Reflections of Karsha monastery.
Prayer room in the monastery
Monastery paintings are a riot of colours
Cute little novice monk...check out his cool red crocs
Tenzin's book with cool labels
Got to see how a monk lives when Tenzin invited us to his room.
What a landscape. The young monk enjoyed being a pillion rider on our bikes.
The petrol pump in Padum village was the coolest petrol pump ever. No branding, no signage, no electricity needed. Just a pump and a hand crank!
Sheela waterfall is about 25 Km from Padum and is a local attraction.
